Terms of Service

01.Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Labelyze application (package ID: in.caffeinelabs.labelyze) or accessing the website at labelyze.in, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the application or website. These terms constitute a binding agreement between you and CaffeineLabs.

02.Description of Service

Labelyze is an Android application that allows users to scan and analyse the ingredient labels of Indian packaged food and cosmetic products. The application cross-references ingredients against publicly available data from international regulatory bodies including FSSAI, EU EFSA, US FDA, CDSCO, and WHO, and provides informational output in the form of ingredient scores, regulatory status flags, and personalised safety verdicts based on user-configured health profiles.

03.Informational Use Only

The content provided by Labelyze, including all ingredient safety ratings, regulatory status indicators, health verdicts, and scoring data, is for informational purposes only. It does not constitute medical advice, dietary guidance, or a professional health opinion. Users should not rely on the application as a substitute for consultation with a qualified healthcare professional, registered dietician, or medical practitioner.

CaffeineLabs makes no representation that the information provided is complete, current, or applicable to any specific individual's health circumstances.

04.Eligibility

The application is available to users of all ages. No account registration is required. By using the application, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms in your jurisdiction.

05.License to Use

CaffeineLabs grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Labelyze application on your Android device for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. This license does not include the right to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application;
• Copy, modify, or create derivative works based on the application;
• Distribute, sublicense, or resell the application or any portion thereof;
• Use the application for any commercial purpose without prior written consent from CaffeineLabs;
• Use automated tools to extract data from the application or website.

06.Intellectual Property

The Labelyze application, website, brand identity, ingredient database, scoring methodology, and all associated content are the intellectual property of CaffeineLabs. All rights are reserved. The application uses publicly available regulatory data, which is attributed to the respective originating authorities. No proprietary data from those authorities is claimed by CaffeineLabs.

07.User Submissions

Users may optionally submit product data (product names, barcodes, ingredient lists) to the Labelyze database. By submitting such data, you represent that you have the right to share it and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. You grant CaffeineLabs a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use submitted data for the purpose of improving and expanding the Labelyze product database. Submissions are anonymised and do not include personal identifiers.

08.Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the application or website in any manner that violates applicable Indian or international law;
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, server, or database associated with Labelyze;
• Submit false or misleading product data;
• Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the website or application;
• Use the Labelyze name, logo, or branding without prior written consent.

09.Disclaimer of Warranties

The application and website are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. CaffeineLabs does not warrant that the application will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that the regulatory data contained within it is complete or current at all times.

10.Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CaffeineLabs, its founders, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the application or website. CaffeineLabs's total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed INR 100 (one hundred Indian Rupees).

11.Third-Party Services

The application uses the following third-party services:

• Google Play In-App Review API: for in-app review prompts. Governed by Google's terms of service.

The website links to third-party services including Instagram, X (Twitter), and GitHub. CaffeineLabs is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party service.

12.Modifications to the Application and Terms

CaffeineLabs reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the application or any feature thereof at any time without notice. Updated Terms will be published at labelyze.in/terms with a revised Effective Date. Continued use of the application following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13.Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
